Something not working? See Install Roomy in the help center.
First launch
It starts scanning right away.
There’s nothing to set up. Roomy scans your Mac as soon as it opens and shows what it found on the Overview. Nothing is removed until you choose items and confirm.
- No account, no email address and no card needed to scan.
- The scan stays on your Mac. File names and results are never uploaded.
- Clean up to 500 MB for free, then upgrade in the app if you want more.
Full Disk Access is optional
macOS keeps some folders private to each app. With Full Disk Access, Roomy can also read sandboxed apps’ caches and the copies Mail saves of attachments you open, so the scan is more complete. Without it, everything else works as usual.
- 1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
- 2. Turn on Roomy, then reopen the app.
- 3. Turn it off any time in the same place.
Full Disk Access lets Roomy read more places. It still removes only what you select, and protected areas such as Keychains, Mail and Messages stay off-limits.
